BILCO Type SV and Type DSH automatic smoke vents can be equipped to operate as explosion release vents or as combination fire/explosion vents. Explosion release smoke vent latch options are designed to limit structural damage to a building in the event of an explosion by releasing internal pressure. Explosion release mechanism (shown) is preset and factory-tested to release at between 25-30 pounds per square foot (122-146 kg/m2) of pressure on the underside of the covers. (Lumivents and Type ACDSH models are not available with explosion relief latches.)
